The letsgosunderland.com website has been launched by Sunderland City Council. It was set up because we speak to a lot of young people and they were all telling us the same thing- that there isn’t enough for young people to do. So, we started looking and we found out that there is loads to do- but not enough information out there about the activities on offer. This website brings everything together in one place with an easy to remember name. And where did we get the name? By talking to young people and letting them come up with it. However, it is owned and run by Sunderland City Council so it has the backing you can trust.
The website doesnt just list sporting activities. It also has leisure, how to help out in the community and details of safe places to hang out. The site will give you some great ideas of places to go and things to do with your friends.
We’ve made it as easy as possible to help you locate where the activities happen with maps wherever we have a postcode.
Useful articles
Finally, we recognise that providing details of the activities alone is not enough. That’s why we’ve design the site with articles to help you get involved. These articles provide more in depth information about certain activities in general such as the equipment you might need, the certificates that you can work towards and stories about other young people who have got involved.
Contact us
Finally, feel free to contact us about the site. It is really important to us that the information is accurate and up to date. We rely on the activity providers to keep us updated but if you find the information is out of date then please let us know. Also, let us know if there are specific articles that you want to see and our roving editor will get on the case right away.
