South Shields is delighted to welcome two top names for its Sunday Concert season as part of the 2011 free South Tyneside Summer Festival.
Sunday 17th July – Sophie Ellis Bextor
Sunday 24th July – Joe McElderry
Sunday 31st July – The Lightning Seeds plus Dodgy
The superb Sophie Ellis Bextor will open the first of the ever popular Sunday Concerts on 17th July when she takes to the stage in Bents Park, South Shields for a fantastic free concert. With four great albums to her credit, this pop queen is certain to draw the crowds in their thousands.
A week later on Sunday 24th July, South Shields’ own singing sensation and 2009 X Factor winner Joe McElderry will be back in his home town wowing the crowds in Bents Park for yet another fabulous free event.
The final week on Sunday 31st July, Pop legends The Lightning Seeds led by Ian Broudie famed for hits such as ‘Life of Riley‘, ‘Pure‘, ‘Lucky You’ and the huge twice number one football anthem ‘Three Lions’ (with Frank Skinner and David Baddiel), will be taking to the Bents Park stage to entertain the crowds with their melodious music at this free open-air Sunday concert.
Support will come from Dodgy known for their hits such as Good Enough and Staying Out For The Summer. With their positive attitude and summery songs they are the perfect festival band.
Acts are still to be confirmed for other concerts in Bents Park as well as events and shows throughout the Borough.
